TWO luxury cars went up in smoke on Friday after an electrical fault in one started a garage fire in Carlingford. The female owner of a white Jaguar parked it in the garage of her home at Balaka Drive on Friday at 1.30pm. Not long afterwards her son smelt smoke and they called the fire brigade. Castle Hill police believe the fire started in the Jaguar and spread to the white Porsche parked next to it.

YOUNG animators from Parramatta Marist High School have doodled their way into the finals of the national Screen It film competition.
Two of the Westmead school’s films were selected among the five finalists in the secondary animation category by a panel of industry experts.
The annual competition, held by Melbourne’s Australian Centre for the Moving Image, invited entries from school-age students Australia-wide.
This year all year 9 students at Parramatta Marist worked in pairs to produce films for the competition.

FANCY taking a walk in Parramatta to discover sights you never knew existed?
Parramatta Council is hoping its new “wayfinding” system will allow people to peek into the area’s rich history.
To be called Walk Parramatta, the system will provide visitors on foot with an easy guide through interesting spots around the city and surrounds.
