EELS MAKE CHANGES FOR SHARKS

27 May 2009 74 views No Comment

Jarryd Hayne’s State of Origin selection and a two game suspension for Krisnan Inu have forced the Pirtek Parramatta Eels into changes for Saturday night’s Telstra Premiership clash with Cronulla at Parramatta Stadium.

EELS MAKE CHANGES FOR SHARKSHayne’s selection sees Luke Burt return to fullback, with Etu Uaisele coming back into the side on the wing.

Eric Grothe will line up on the other wing after a successful comeback from injury in Friday’s 16-all draw with South Sydney at ANZ Stadium.

Inu will miss the match after taking an early guilty plea on a grade two dangerous throw charge stemming from Friday night’s match. His place in the centres has been taken by Ben Smith.

Jeff Robson and Joel Reddy have again been named at halfback and five eighth respectively, while Daniel Mortimer will be in the mix again after being selected on the interchange bench for the second straight week.

Jeremy Latimore has also been named on the bench after making his debut against the Rabbitohs.

The Eels play the Sharks at 730pm on Saturday at Parramatta Stadium.

Toyota Cup head coach David Fairleigh has stuck solid with the team that turned the tables on Souths last week, naming an unchanged starting side to the one that defeated the Rabbitohs 30-22.

The win saw the Eels climb from last to 12th on the ladder ahead of Saturday’s clash with the 14th placed Sharks, who are coached by former Eels Toyota Cup assistant Joe Grima.

And in the NSW Cup, Wentworthville coach Rip Taylor has named first graders Broderick Wright and Junior Paulo in his front row to make the trek across the Tasman to play Auckland at Mt. Smart Stadium no.2 on Saturday.
