Jetski riders are pushing for their return to Sydney Harbour after being banned eight years ago.

Jetski riders push for harbour access

Jetski Sydney’s Dominic Favaloro says high noise levels and environmental concerns led to the ban in 2001.

But he says his group is now appealing to New South Wales Maritime against the ban on the basis that new technology has improved the Jetski.

“We’re trying to push for the Harbour Bridge all the way down the Parramatta river,” he said.

“The new Jetski are very low sound levels…and a majority of them are all seated and it’s a lot more safe to be on the water.”
