Luxury cars go up in smoke

TWO luxury cars went up in smoke on Friday after an electrical fault in one started a garage fire in Carlingford. The female owner of a white Jaguar parked it in the garage of her home at Balaka Drive on Friday at 1.30pm. Not long afterwards her son smelt smoke and they called the fire brigade. Castle Hill police believe the fire started in the Jaguar and spread to the white Porsche parked next to it.

Luxury cars go up in smokeOFFICERS from Operation Countdown, a regional police initiative, have joined Hills police in increasing patrols in the area after a spike in the number of burglaries in Kellyville. There have been several break-ins in the Kellyville and Beaumont Hills area with large screen televisions top of the hit list. The occupants of a house in Marsden Ave, Kellyville, were asleep when thieves broke into the house early on Tuesday morning and stole a television, camera, wallet and purse. People were warned to ensure all windows and doors were secure and to switch on house alarms. Outside sensor lights were also recommended.

A MAN was charged with assaulting a police officer after a fracas outside the McDonald’s restaurant at Castle Hill at 2am on Sunday. A large group of noisy people was asked to leave the restaurant but got into an argument with police. A man, 20, of St Clair, is due to appear before Parramatta Court on November 16.

A P-plater has been charged with driving in a reckless manner after he was seen by police driving at more than 100km/h in a 60km/h zone. The man, 20, of Glenwood, was stopped at 9.55pm on Saturday.

POLICE dogs and two squad cars from Eastwood helped Hills police close a noisy party in Baulkham Hills on Saturday night after a brawl broke out in the street. The halloween party ended early after many calls to Hills police from surrounding homes in Radiata Ave. More than 50 people tried to crash the gathering and there was fighting in the street when police arrived at 10pm. One man was hurt but no arrests were made. Police are urging anyone hosting a party at their home to have it registered with police. A TEENAGER was clocked by police doing double the speed limit at Cropley Drive, Baulkham Hills, last week. The red P-plate driver, 18, of Baulkham Hills, was stopped by police at 11.30am on Tuesday after driving at more than 100km/h. He was charged with excessive speed and for not displaying P-plates.

HILLS Highway patrol officers have charged a man, 27, with speeding and other offences after he failed to stop when directed to in Mileham St, South Windsor. He is due to appear before Hornsby Court on November 19.

SECURITY staff at Myer in Castle Towers called police after stopping a youth, 16, of North Parramatta, leaving the store. He was charged with shoplifting and breaching his bail conditions. Staff alleged he took several shirts which he hid under clothes before trying to leave the store.
