Storm focus on finals
MELBOURNE Storm coach Craig Bellamy says tonight’s clash with Parramatta marks the start of a finals preparation free of distractions.

With State-of-Origin finished his full squad is available for all training sessions, allowing Storm to work out any kinks before September.
With so many key playmakers constantly absent over the past six weeks, Bellamy said Storm could set about working on any weaknesses and add a couple of new weapons to its armoury.
“There is only one thing for all of us now — getting into the finals — and it’s a matter of all looking in the one direction together. That’s what it is about now,” Bellamy said yesterday.
“It’s about trying to finetune things and make sure we’re playing well each and every week, especially tonight. But everyone’s energies are back focusing solely on the same things and that’s important.”
All of Storm’s combatants in Origin 3 are likely to play tonight. Skipper Cameron Smith, who has a shoulder complaint, completed training last night and how he pulls up today will determine his availability.
Five-eighth Brett Finch could also be a surprise starter against the Eels, who released him earlier this season.
Finch suffered a partially collapsed lung against Newcastle on July 4 and was considered a long shot to recover for tonight. He has trained twice in the last three days but didn’t complete the physical component yesterday and is still considered doubtful.
Storm is an easing $1.67 favourite, while Parramatta has shortened significantly from its opening $2.60 quote to be as short as $2.15 late yesterday.
Eels fullback Jarryd Hayne looms as the danger man for Storm tonight. Hayne was at his blistering best for New South Wales during the Origin series and Bellamy, the Blues coach, conceded his players would have their hands full.
“He’s got a lot of the same qualities and gets the same results as Greg Inglis. They both bust tackles easy and can get to top pace very quickly. He’s a really talented player,” Bellamy said. “Every time he touches the ball everyone is alert and I didn’t really see any chinks in his armour.”
Parramatta stalwart Nathan Hindmarsh plays his 250th NRL game tonight.
